Jon started making music at 8 years old when he happened upon an old nylon string guitar that his mother had stored in a closet.  At 10 he changed over to electric guitar and joined a neighborhood rock band in the late 60’s. In the mid 70’s he left the guitar behind to focus on his college studies and it was years later, in his early 40s, that he picked it up again and joined the Mesa College Guitar Ensemble around 1999. He played for many years with that group as both a student and, ultimately, a ’teachers aide’ (mostly for the parking benefits tbh) playing many different styles of music and performing a few times each semester to small groups for fun and experience.

His musical interests range from Classical to Spanish to Jazz and he truly enjoys the camaraderie of making music with his friends.
