Born in Cheb, Czechoslovakia and now residing in San Diego, California. Mr. Svoboda studied guitar, history of music and music theory at the State Conservatory of Music in Pislen, Czechoslovakia. He received his Bachelor Degree in Music in 1996 and his Masters Degree in Music in 1998 at San Diego State University.

George Svovoda has gained recognition not only as an entertaining performer, but also as a composer and arranger of music for solo guitar, small ensembles and full orchestra. Mr. Svoboda has been teaching, performing and recording for nearly forty-five years. In his native Czechoslovakia, he taught guitar and music theory in Public Schools of Art. Since arriving in the U.S., he taught as a guitar instructor at San Diego Mesa College, San Diego State University and San Diego City Schools. He also published successful instructional books on guitar technique. He has recently retired from his post as a Professor at San Diego Mesa College where he had been teaching performance studies and guitar.
